Good morning! A peak into my morning routine

Step one was a success…. you woke up! yay! We got this momma! take a few breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. I like to turn on my diffuser with purification or a citrus blend. Hopefully you set your coffee machine so it is ready for you but if not don’t worry. It will only take a few minutes to get it going. Sit back relax for a few minutes. Sip that hot coffee and pull out a good devotional. If you don’t have one and your not sure where to start reading in the bible just flip through psalms or proverbs. It’s easy to read for the most part and pretty inspiring. If you are not religious self help books are a good option. If you have been thinking about religion and all that it encompasses but have not joined a church, a devotional is a good start.  It just needs to get you thinking, praying, talking to the lord. Having quiet time with him helps center me for the long day ahead. Especially days that I work. My job is pretty stressful but also rewarding.

Best laid plans. Sometimes this does not happen. Do not let this ruin your day! 20 minutes is nice and what I always strive for but sometime all you get is 5 or 10 minutes while the kids are doing a craft or watching there favorite cartoon. However you can have them safely occupied so you can take care of your mental health.

In addition to a devotional, positive affirmations are a must! We do not realize it but there are times throughout the day when we are picking up trash off the counter or dirty socks off the floor, scrapping toothpaste off the bathroom sink and wiping pee off the floor, that we start to tell ourselves how worthless we are. How this life sucks and I wish I had someone else to do this for me. Everyone else kids do what they are told what is wrong with mine. These are all lies. This is the enemy at work. Our kids are just that…Kids! they are learning so many different angles to every situation everyday. Especially right now in the world we live in. They did not pee on the floor just to make you mad so that you would have to clean it up. They were not even thinking about you and they probably do not even know they did it. Positive affirmations keep us grounded in the truth about ourselves and our family to help us shut the enemy down when he starts to tell us lies.

Next up breakfast! something health would be great. The more you prepare the night before the more successful you will be at this. I love an egg in the microwave with a piece of toast. Super quick and easy and not bad for you. Overnight oats are also a good option for make ahead meals if you can get past the texture. I used to but ever since my last pregnancy I have not been able to get past the gooeyness of it. While I am eating I like to walk around pick up stuff from the night before and open up my planner to make sure I’m not forgetting to do anything and see what I am instore for today. I have ADD and once I get going I like to do a few things at a time. This just so happens to be a requirement for motherhood so I lucked out…just kidding but it can be helpful.

Currently we are homeschooling through the public school so once I get the kids settled into an assignment I try to fit in a 20-30 minute workout.  3 days a week I work 12 hour shifts at our local hospital as a respiratory therapist. Ya heard me…RESPIRATORY therapist. During a global respiratory pandemic! Talk about regretting my career choice. Kidding… not kidding….kidding.  I love helping people. It is truly a calling. I know that God put me here to help his people. That is why I started this blog. If I can help one person feel normal in their skin and give them hope for a new day then I have done what he wanted me to do, We are in this together! Enjoy all the memories and give yourself and your family grace. God gave it us!

Talk to you soon!
